Dr. Zafar Iqbal Buhroo is presently working as Assistant Professor cum Junior Scientist, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir from past seven years with more than 10 years of teaching and research experience in the field of Agricultural and Sericulture Sciences. He is experienced in Silkworm Genetics Breeding and Biotechnology. He obtained his M.Sc. in Seri-Biotechnology with Distinction from the University of Mysore in the year 2010 and Ph.D. in Sericulture (Silkworm Biotechnology) from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Kashmir in the year 2017. He has published more than 40 research articles in National and International journals. He has attended several National and International conferences and has presented his research in many National and International conferences. He has also worked as Junior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow and Research Associate in the Department of Science and Technology DST, DBT, GoI Sponsored Projects. He was also awarded DST SERB Fellowship in the year 2017. He has recently been awarded Young Scientist Award2020 in the field of Ser-Biotechnology by the Department of Biotechnology, Kalp Laboratories, Mathura-India. He has also been conferred with Research Excellence Award by INSc. Bangalore-India. He is an Editorial Board Member of many International and National Journals. He has guided Four M. Sc. students in the capacity of Major and Co-advisors. He is presently involved in teaching, research and extension programs of the university.
