Dr. Suraksha Chanotra is working as a Lecturer in the P. G. Dept. of Sericulture, Poonch Campus, University of Jammu. She acquired her undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from the University of Jammu and her doctorate from the SKUAST-J. She has published 30 original research papers in reputable, cited national and international journals from both India and abroad. She was awarded a recognition certificate for her exceptional work at the M.Sc. level, University Merit Scholarship and an RGNF National fellowship by the Indian govt. For her work and enthusiasm in the subject of Sericulture, she has received numerous awards, including the Young Scientist Award, Best Thesis Award, Excellent Researcher Award, Best Sericulturist Award, etc. In the area of Sericulture, she has also published numerous books and book chapters. She has also frequently attended numerous seminars, conferences, workshops, and webinars and has presented her research findings at more than 15 national and three international conferences. She has also taken part in several training sessions and seminars held by various government, semi-government, and non-profit organisations and scientific agencies. Her specialisation in research is DNA fingerprinting and mulberry plant biotechnology.
