Dr. Shahina A. Nagoo is working as Associate Professor cum Senior Scientist at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir having specialization in Genetics and Plant Breeding. She has more than Fifteen years of teaching and research experience in Agricultural Sciences. She has obtained her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding with distinction from the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology of Kashmir. She has attended several National and International conferences and has published more than 60 research articles in National and International Journals. She has handled many externally funded research projects of the university and has guided many students in their Master’s and Doctoral programs. She has many awards to her credit including the Scientist of the year Award-2020, Research Excellence Award-2020 and Young Plant Breeder Award-2021. She is an Editorial Board Member of many International and National Journals and is presently involved in the teaching, research, and extension program of the university.
Understanding various medical sciences, such as drug development, immunology, pathology, pharmacy, vaccine development, etc., requires a thorough understanding of biochemistry. A branch of study called molecular biology investigates biology at the molecular level. Through the use of biological methods mixed with concepts from Genetics and Biochemistry, Molecular Biologists are able to integrate Biology and Chemistry, specifically Genetics and Biochemistry. The composition, structure, function, and relationships of cellular elements such proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids that are in charge of carrying out biological activities are also studied by molecular biology.
